Drumstick (Moringa Oleifera)
It is considered a miracle tree because almost every part of the tree, which has some beneficial property, is used for food or as animal fooder. The Moringa tree is slender and grows to about 10m in height and can be trimmed down so its pod and leaves are within reach. In Africa, it is a traditional food plant which has been known for its nutritional value. It is a tree that requires little or no attention as it requires minimum care or watering. From this tree, the leaves and fruit are consumed while its wood is suitable for the newsprint business and can be made into writing paper. Its leaves are consumed by people as well as livestock, with cattle, sheep, goats and pigs deriving healthy nutrients from each bite. The gum of the tree has been used in calico printing while its flowers are rich in potassium and calcium. According to research, when drumstick seeds, which are dried, crushed and powdered are added to untreated water, it provides an amazing outcome. The Moringa seed powder binds itself to sediments, dirt and bacteria, encouraging these substances to sink to the bottom so that clean water can be scooped up. Drumstick seeds contain 35 to 40% oil by weight and has high levels of mono unsaturated fatty acid like oleic acid (which are good to lower cholesterol). The oil is also used as a Massage Oil in Ayurvedic treatment. Massage Oil
